The footings are just the start. Our trusted Site Managers check ground conditions daily in case we need to adapt the foundation design to get the very best result. The best of both worlds
We think about our home owners in the long term, not just the here and now, and work hard to eliminate disruption to the home owner once they’ve moved in. We use the very best combination of traditional construction methods and modern materials that we’ve developed over the last 70 years, such as engineered joists that eliminate squeaky floors. We invest in relationships, including our team of trusted tradesmen. They’re an essential part of our family, bringing skills from years of experience. We learn together and craft quality homes together, time after time.
Water-tight roofs and teams
Once the roof is on, the property is water tight and the drying process begins. By allowing it to dry out for longer and more naturally we minimise the risk of future shrinkage or cracking. It may look from the outside that work has stopped, but, we’re just getting started. More than 20 members of our team will start on the internal work of your home – much done by hand. It takes a skilled and experienced site manager to orchestrate this large team of craftsmen – aligning their work and timings to keep on schedule. It’s a finely tuned performance.
Finished inside and out
First fix is a key stage in the process. The internal layout is fixed. Wall structures are ready to take plasterboard, pipes and electrics are covered and your home is ready for fixtures and fittings. But not before thorough testing. In attached properties, we use very robust methods to ensure that we pass the sound-transmission and fire-proofing requirements with ease. We take great care to future proof your home by positioning pipes and electrics suitably for all the demands of modern life. At the final inspection, the site manager will share this detail with you.
We’re confident in the quality of our build and rigorous processes at every stage. But this is your chance to thoroughly inspect your home with the site manager and check you’re happy. The site manager has been following the build from the ground up and knows it inside out. They will explain where everything is, how it works, explain the warranties, and provide some practical guidance on how to look after your investment. They can answer any questions you may have about new builds.
