AC Lloyd Homes managing director Alistair Clark says Covid-19 will give staff the opportunity to assess the future practices of the company
We have had an amazing few years at AC Lloyd culminating in winning last year’s Leamington’s Business of the Year award.
A fantastic team effort has turned the company around from the dark days of the recession in 2010–2012 to a good level of profit in recent years.
Understandably profit will suffer this year from the effects of Covid-19 but we are well set to ‘ride out’ the period of closure and return strongly when things start up again.
We are pleased to report that five properties have been handed over in the last few days.
Legal paperwork was wrapped up quickly and social distancing observed by the removal companies. The new homeowners had either been living with relatives or renting so at least now they are able to unpack and get used to their new surroundings in their own space.
We have a skeleton staff still working and this gives us the chance to review our business which includes thinking about the way we inter-act with prospective homeowners and making it as pleasure an experience as possible.
We are looking at all sorts of innovative ways of improving customers’ journey so look out for future blogs giving more details.
We also need to make sure we are ready to hit the ground running once we receive the go-ahead from Government. Staff working from homes are making sure everything is in place for a quick start-up.
This enforced lay-off could mean there will be pent up demand so we need to be ready to respond.
We will also keep our ear to the ground for any developments site which may hit the market.
Finally, stay safe everyone and a big thank you to all those key workers doing a fantastic job keeping the country going.
